General Information

My daughter is interested in playing fastpitch...what's next?

Spring/Sumer Season:

  1. You will need to register.  Click on the Registration tab and select the appropriate season you are registering your daughter for.
  2. After registration you will need to have your daughter attend player evaluations (10U and up only).  You will need to provide a $75 check that will only be cashed if you do not fulfill your Mayfly Volunteer obligation (please see Mayfly Parent Page).
  3. After player evaluations your daughter will be assigned to a team by the team formation committee which will be posted to the EGFA website by Wednesday following evaluations.
  4. You should receive an introductory email from your coach about the upcoming season with recommended tournament and a reminder to attend the Parent/Player meeting the following Monday.
  5. Download the SportsEngine mobile app (this is our primary mode of communication).
  6. Attend the Parent/Player meeting to meet your coach and be sized for uniforms (10U and up).  You will also be assigned an available Player Jersey Number (you can access player numbers under the Parentzzz tab in the Player Jersey menu item).
  7. If you are new to EGFA or you need to order a new uniform you will need to go online after the Parent/Player meeting to place your order. Uniform orders should be received before the start of the season (first game).
  8. After the Parent/Player meeting your daughter's coach will begin to set up the practice schedule for March and April (RSVP in SportsEngine).  Some practices may be indoors.  Fields do not open until generally the second week of April and coaches do not have the game schedule until after the Coaches League meeting the second week of April.
  9. After the coaches attend the Coaches League Meeting they will now have the access to the game schedule and can finish the weekly practice schedule.  You will begin to receive several notifications in SportsEngine that you will need to RSVP (coaches depend on this to ensure they have enough players to field a team for weekly league games and tournaments).
  10. You will receive an email that gives you a deadline to buy out of your Mayfly volunteer obligation (the deadline is to allow us to plan how many EHS players we will need to fill roles and that we will have to pay for their time).  The buyout link is located on the Home Plate page.
  11. Next you will receive a SignUp Genius link (also posted on the Mayfly Parent Page) to sign up for a time slot to fulfill your volunteer obligation (10U and up, one 3-4 hour time slot per family).
  12. Finally, you will be asked to attend the Team pictures and complete a picture order form (this is for all teams).  Generally team pictures are scheduled for the Saturday of the Mayfly Tournament.
