EGFA Board

Call for Volunteers!

Thank you to our Volunteers!

Edina Girls Softball Program is a volunteer-run organization, and we would like to keep it that way. Therefore, we are seeking some new volunteers to help with some upcoming program needs. Time commitment will vary based on your individual capacity and interest.

How to sign up: Email annabbriggs@gmail.com to sign up or to learn more.

October is our annual meeting where we vote in new members and others "age out." Directors meet approximately 10 times per year, with committee work is year round depending on the committee.

Examples of board positions are listed below. Areas we are seeking volunteers are indicated as OPEN (onboarding and mentorship will be provided for all positions). If you don't want to lead a committee, each of these can use help on an ad-hoc basis.

  1. OPEN  Recreation Program Director: Manage end-to-end Recreational program engagement (identify opportunities, support rec program engagement and experience including Mayfly exhibition game and year-end tournament for younger age levels).

  2. Player Development: Support Development Lead Enhancing player development offerings (ie..on and off-season training clinics, transitional age level support, coaching support, etc).

  3. Communications Lead - own the process for who communicates what information and by what channel. Coordinate, create and/or send board communications in a timely manner. Coordinate with committee leads.

  4. Coach Experience & Compliance: Make it easier for coaches to get required training. Coaching training (enhance the coaching experience, including training and development); track mandatory/reportable compliance training (e.g., background checks, ACE, etc).

  5.  Volunteer coordinator - Manage the volunteer time tracking and reimbursement process. Work closely with EHS liaison, tournament managers and finance director to make sure volunteer time is tracked and payments are made in a timely way.

  6. OPEN Fundraising & Sponsorship lead - leverage your relationships and expertise to secure donations that support the program, either strategic or tactical. Help secure grants. Think of something new we aren't doing and go for it! Many local establishments offer programs to raise funds. Work with facilities lead to prioritize fundraising goals.

  7. OPEN - webmaster. Point person to organize the website, add timely and relevant content and support digital experience of our website. May expand to include branding, marketing and design, if that is of interest.

  8. Board recruitment & nomination. This is a new role created to ensure succession of EGFA leadership, including outreach, onboarding and support for board members.

  9. Equipment Lead: Support the management (purchase necessary equipment, manage equipment, coordinate with coaches)

  10.  Facilities Lead: Supporting field and facility scheduling (involves some coordination with the City)

  12. Tournament Directors - Manage our hosted tournaments

  13. OPEN  At - large - just want to help out, but don't know/care where? Have ideas?  That works too!

Volunteers are paired with a board member liaison or may opt to lead the initiative with minimal support. Time commitment involves 1-2 meetings with board liaison to learn about the need and determine roles & level of support based on interest and capacity. Monthly board meeting attendance is helpful but not required for most positions. Attendance at a minimum of 6 meetings per year is required to maintain position.

Volunteers are critically important to the success of the EGFA - please consider volunteering your time and talents!!!

We would like to extend an invitation to join the EGFA board of directors.  Being a member of the board requires a commitment of 2 to 8 hours per month, and will provide you with the opportunity to work with outstanding individuals and help the youth in our community!  Our girls need YOU!

If you are interested in becoming part of the board please email info@edinafastpitch.org or feel free to reach out to one of our board members.
